Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, President of the Southern Transitional Council, directed the immediate start of implementing a mechanism to enhance the generating capacity of the electricity system in the capital, Aden.
Hours after his return to the capital, Aden, Al-Zubaidi chaired, on Saturday, in the presidential palace of Al-Ma’ashiq, an urgent meeting that included the Minister of State, the governor of the capital, Aden Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, the Minister of Electricity, Engineer Manea bin Yameen, and the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, Dr.Muhammad Omar Banaja, General Manager of the National Bank and Dr.Ahmed bin Sankar.
Al-Zubaidi confirmed that the deteriorating electricity situation in the capital, Aden, has reached an extent that the citizen can no longer bear in light of the high temperatures and humidity levels. Pointing out that this calls for the concerted efforts of all to alleviate the suffering of citizens and ensure the stability of service within its acceptable limits.
During the meeting, a number of urgent solutions were reviewed to raise the production capacity of the power generation system, and coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Electricity, the Central Bank and the National Bank to provide the required funds to fulfill the obligations arising therefrom.
In the meeting, Al-Zubaidi directed the Ministry of Electricity, the local authority in the capital, the Central Bank and the National Bank to immediately start implementing the mechanism to enhance the generational capacity of the electricity system, to benefit from all available expertise and capabilities, and to raise any difficulties that may hinder their workflow to work on facilitating and resolving them, in a way that ensures service improvement and stability as soon as possible.
