Aden, NewsYemen, special:

Operation " Siham al-Sharq"  Arrows of the East continues to advance in the central regions of Abyan Governorate, southern Yemen, where the southern forces were able to clear important sites where terrorist groups were stationed.

And on Sunday, the Security Belt forces in Abyan launched the second phase of the military campaign, inflicted painful blows on terrorist elements in Khobar al-Maraqsha, and purified large areas in the Ahwar district, and the central regions of the governorate.

The campaign advanced on two axes, as a force from the security belt launched towards the coastal areas of the Ahwar district, while another campaign headed from the Arqoub Mountains towards the districts of Lauder, Mudiyah and Al-Mahfad.

The Security Belt forces, backed by forces from Abyan security, cleared large areas in Khobar al-Maraqsha and the coastal areas, despite the terrorist groups' attempt to obstruct their progress by booby-trapping roads with explosive devices.

The Security Belt and Abyan security forces reached Lawdar district, Al-Ain and Aked camp, after Al-Qaeda militants fled towards Al-Mahfad, the last district of Abyan.

The commander of the security belt, Brigadier General Abdul Latif al-Sayed, said that Operation Arrows of the East  "Siham al-Sharq" continues in its progress, until all districts in Abyan governorate are cleansed.

He explained that the security forces, backed by the forces of the Shaqra axis, will be deployed in the Lauder and Mudiyah districts, in addition to the Khobar al-Maraqsha area and the border hills with Shabwa governorate.

He added that the southern forces clashed with al-Qaeda terrorist elements in Wadi Sri, adjacent to the Mojan Mountains, in the Khobar al-Maraqsha region.

In Shabwa, the southern forces announced the completion of the first phase of Operation Siham al-Janoub and the achievement of its full objectives by clearing Al-Masnaa and the mountains of Wadi Madhab, Wadi Sa`ra and Wadi Tafla, from terrorist groups.

Journalist Abdel Qader Al-Qadi said, "The operations to strike al-Qaeda hideouts in Abyan and Shabwa continue, with popular, regional and international support," noting that "the south was able today to advance over these organizations with proactive steps that confused them greatly."  According to him.

Al-Qadi added, in a series of tweets, that terrorism is receiving painful and severe blows to their backs at the hands of the southern armed forces in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa, with the support of the coalition.

He pointed out that Operation Arrows of the South and Arrows of the East is the largest anti-terror operation that is carried out in a serious and real way to end any presence or gathering of terrorist groups in Shabwa and Abyan.

Politician Fahd Al-Khulaifi called on the southern forces to raise the pace of their actions, reach every stronghold of terrorism, raise the level of readiness and activate the intelligence service, explaining that the enemy is undercover and is fighting in a surprising manner and planting explosive devices and car bombs.
