Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

Gunmen from the "Popular Mobilization" militia loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood continue to block the main road linking the governorates of Taiz and Aden in the Al-Turbah area, for the second day in a row.

A local source told (NewsYemen) that dozens of fuel tankers and commercial trucks piled up on both sides of the road in the Al-Turbah line in Al-Shamyatin District, as a result of an armed group affiliated with the Brotherhood's Al-Hashd militia cutting the Taiz-Aden road.

The source added that the armed group asked owners of trucks and commercial tankers to pay illegal levies in exchange for allowing them to pass through, while media sources reported that the sector was protesting against previous cut-offs carried out by gunmen on board military crews.

The drivers of fuel tankers and food trucks complain about the escalation of harassment and abuse, and the imposition of points belonging to the Brotherhood’s Popular Mobilization Militia and the forces of the Taiz axis, for compulsory and illegal levies along the main lines linking the city of Taiz and Lahj governorate, which directly affected the citizen and the drivers.
