Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

In the capital, Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, black markets are booming to sell oil derivatives, at a time when the militias claim that the Arab coalition has prevented oil ships from entering the port of Hodeidah.

The prosperity of these markets coincides with the closure of the fuel filling stations of the Yemeni Oil Company, under allegations of running out of gasoline, which raised their prices to 18 thousand riyals per bear by 900 riyals per liter.

This crisis is a Houthi policy par excellence to torture the residents of Sana'a, and it is a policy prevalent in all Houthi-controlled areas.

Military leaders behind the black market

Many Houthi leaders are behind the emergence of these markets that generate large income for them.

One of the sellers says to (NewsYemen) when asked where did you get oil from when it is a available and the government is not providing it?

He said, "We buy oil from Arhab University. We go to Arhab, and there we find military teams belonging to military leaders who bring it from Al-Jawf and from the legitimate areas through the crews and sell it there."

This is confirmed by another vendor, who says, "They closed most of the oil stations belonging to the oil company and left two three that sell oil in a long queue that reaches to several streets, and most of them do not get oil at the end, and we are forced to go to the black market where oil is available in large quantities."

He added, why are there closed stations and others not, and how the black markets increased and increased in a very large number ...

He emphasized that this is only a policy of starvation and humiliation.

 Crises due to a crisis

This crisis has emerged behind many crises and caused the livelihood of people, especially those who depend on taxi buses after the salary cut.

Citizen Abdulrahman Muhammad says, "I cannot buy oil from the black market at this price, and even if I bought it, will I be able to regain the value of the oil container because people are reluctant to ride a taxi with the high price of oil, as we have to raise the price of the ride?"
