Houthis stop allocations of up 23,000 disabled people in al-Hodeida

23,849 people of the special needs in al-Hodeida province suffer from the Houthi militias after the militias seized the allocations of the Physically Disabled Center and deprived them of the medical drugs they received from the center.

Sources at the Department of the Center in al-Hodeida said to Newsyemen that the Houthi militias stopped the amount of Y.R 248 million the allocations of the Center, nearly three years ago, which caused the deprivation of 23,849 beneficiaries of the Center's aid.

The source said that the center guaranteed to pay the cost of the training sessions for 7,560 children under the age of eighteen.

The source added that the Houthi militias' robbery on the allocations caused the majority of the children suffered from malnutrition, causing them partial or total paralysis and other complications, including atrophy in the brain, hearing or visual impairments.

The source said that the militias cut the center's allocations because it could not benefit from the disabled in their crazy war against the Yemeni people.

He accused international organizations of complicity through the silence and the lack of accountability of the Houthi militias in looting the rights of the disabled.

The source said that some international humanitarian organizations tried to provide medical assistance to the Center after providing the necessary documents within the project was supposed to begin in 2015 and extends for three years, but those organizations apologized suddenly after the rejection of the Houthi militias direct support for victims through the center.

He said that the Houthi militias had stipulated that these organizations should support the center of the disabled in al-Hodeida just through their supervisors at the ministries of health and social affairs.

Newsyemen had managed to reach one of the victims whom the Houthi militias looted her allocations by stopping her medical aid to treat both of her eyes.

The Houthi militias stopped to give her allocations that caused the damaged to her right eye so as to plant the cornea, she lost the sight in her right eye and she needs medicines for the left eye.
