Houthi prevents 'Sky Lantern Festival' in Sana'a

The Houthi group, the Iran's arm in Yemen, banned the Sky Lantern Festival hours before it began in the capital Sana'a, informed source said.

The Houthi militias justified to cancel the festival by "preventing mixing" between males and females, considering the human and social festivals "from the culture of Jews and Christians soft war."

Sources added that the organizing committee of the Festival "Sky Lantern", set the date of the festival after obtaining the necessary approvals from the Houthi authorities before the latter returns and decides to prevent it.
