عزت وزارة الكهرباء الانطفاءات المتكررة التي تشهدها البلاد إلى عدم توفر الوقود الكافية لتشغيل محطات التوليد المساعدة لمحطة مارب الغازية، الأمر الذي قالت الوزارة إنه تسبب في توقف عدد من تلك المحطات وخفض القدرة التوليدية لمحطات أخرى. وقال مصدر مسؤول في الوزارة لـ"نيوزيمن"، إن قيادة الوزارة تعمل مع وزارة النفط على ايجاد حلول لأزمة الوقود، والبحث عن طرق سريعة لتوفير كميات كافية لتوليد جميع المحطات دون توقف. وتضاعفت إنقطاعات الكهرباء منذ قرابة عشرة أيام لتصل الى 10 ساعات يوميا.
