"Armed attack".. Media coverage exposing the suspicious relationship between the Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda
English - Monday 12 June 2023 الساعة 05:05 pmThe media coverage of the Brotherhood-affiliated media of the attack launched by al-Qaeda elements, at dawn on Sunday, in the Musina'a area of Shabwa governorate, raised accusations again of the suspected relationship between the group and terrorist organizations.
Two soldiers were killed and several others were wounded in a double terrorist attack launched by al-Qaeda members at a checkpoint of the Shabwa Defense Forces in the Musina'a area of Shabwa governorate, southeast of the country.
Al-Qaeda members detonated a car bomb near the security checkpoint, followed by an attack with machine guns and RPGs against the force stationed at the checkpoint, which managed to respond to the attack and engage the attacking terrorists, killing one of the terrorists and capturing two others.
Contrary to the official version presented by the Ministry of the Interior and the Shabwa authority media of the incident, describing it as a terrorist attack, the Brotherhood-affiliated media dealt with the incident in a different way, in which an attempt to cast doubt on the fact that it was a terrorist attack emerged.
Where the Brotherhood's media insisted on describing the incident as an "armed attack", by gunmen "believed to be members of Al-Qaeda", and did not refer to the details of the attack and what preceded it, including the detonation of a car bomb driven by a suicide bomber.
It was remarkable that the Brotherhood's media highlighted the losses suffered by the Shabwa Defense Forces in the attack, without mentioning that they were able to confront the attacking elements, killing and capturing a number of them, which forced them to flee, while the Brotherhood's media claimed that they were able to control the security checkpoint.
This Brotherhood coverage of the Shabwa attack aroused ridicule among southern activists of the group's attempt to support terrorist organizations in the media, in a clear way that confirms the reality of the suspicious relationship between the two parties in Yemen.
The southern activists inferred the visual release broadcast by Al-Qaeda in Yemen 24 hours before the Shabwa attack under the title "The Truth of the Emirates Mercenaries", in which the terrorist organization renewed its violent and sharp attack against the southern forces and vowed to attack them in the future.
As with the previous versions of the organization during the last five years, the Brotherhood’s language appears clearly in the discourse of Al-Qaeda and its restriction of attacks against the UAE and its allied forces on the ground in the liberated areas, with the same vocabulary and accusations that the Brotherhood makes.
In the latest version, al-Qaeda launched a violent attack against the military formations supported by the UAE, which are the forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council, such as the Security Belts, Hadrami Elite Forces, and Shabwa Defense, in addition to the Republic Guard Forces led by Brigadier General Tariq Saleh.
What was remarkable about the latter’s release was the appearance of one of the leaders of Al-Qaeda strongly condemning the killing of a prominent leader in the Islah Party in Shabwa (the Yemeni Brotherhood), Abdullah Al-Bani, who was killed after the last Eid Al-Fitr prayer in the Beihan district, in conjunction with unconfirmed reports that Al-Qaeda fired on The last attack in Al-Musaina in the "Battle of Al-Bani".
