Southern forces enter Wadi Omran, the largest stronghold of al-Qaeda in Abyan

Southern forces entered Wadi Omran, east of Mudiyah District, where Al-Qaeda's largest camps are located in Abyan governorate.

The local sources confirmed that the valley witnessed strong confrontations, and the people contributed to uncovering al-Qaeda's explosive devices on the roads, where the militants of the organization placed explosives and motorcycles, and the sources said: "But they fled under the pressure of the advance of the southern forces."

The spokesman for the southern forces, Lt. Col. Muhammad al-Naqib, said that the forces entered the al-Qaeda stronghold in Wadi Omran.

Muhammad al-Naqib indicated in his tweet, "In a decisive field response to the statement of the so-called terrorist Ansar al-Sharia, units of our armed forces enter Wadi Omaran, one of the largest strongholds of terrorist elements.

Field sources in the southern forces confirmed the forces' entry into Wadi Omran and the outbreak of violent clashes with al-Qaeda elements in the mountains overlooking the valley, noting that the forces managed to control parts of the valley.

Wadi Omran is a large mountainous area, in the middle of which is Wadi Omran. It is a rugged and vast mountainous area in which al-Qaeda members have been holed up for years and has become the command center of the organization in the province.
