Al-Qaeda implements its threats in Abyan in response to the defeat of the Brotherhood in Shabwa
English - Tuesday 06 September 2022 الساعة 05:51 pmOn Tuesday, Al-Qaeda terrorist organization launched a violent attack against the Security Belt forces in Abyan Governorate (southern Yemen), which led to the martyrdom of the commander of the First Anti-Terrorism Battalion and a number of soldiers.
This terrorist attack comes days after the speech of the Da`wah official in Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, in which he supported the Muslim Brotherhood, attacked the Arab coalition and the Presidential Command Council, and vowed to carry out terrorist attacks against the southern forces.
Al-Malahem Foundation, the media arm of the organization, had broadcast a new version of Al-Qaeda, which included a speech by the leader, "Abu Ali Al-Disi", who is the organization's advocacy official and one of the leaders close to the organization's leader, Khaled Batarfi.
The al-Qaeda leader called for the support of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, against the Arab coalition and the Presidential Leadership Council, against the background of the expulsion of Brotherhood militias from Shabwa governorate, in the southeast of the country.
He said, "The control of the Transitional Council forces over Shabwa is a prelude to their control of other cities and their annexation of the authority of the Presidential Council backed by the coalition."
The terrorist leader's speech included an attack on the Arab coalition, especially the UAE, due to its involvement in the fight against terrorism and its war on al-Qaeda, and its support for the security belt forces and military elites that play a prominent role in fighting the organization and the Houthi group.
Al-Qaeda considered that the solution in Shabwa will not be with the resignation of the governor supported by the Presidential Council and the Arab alliance, Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaki, but with the implementation of a new coup and launching terrorist attacks against the governor and the forces of the Transitional Council and an attempt to control Shabwa governorate by force.
Al-Islah called for an alliance with Al-Qaeda in Yemen, and to abandon its approach and participation in the framework of the Yemeni legitimate institutions, saying that the current policy of the party will not be in its interest, but rather in its interest in allying with Al-Qaeda and leaving the legitimate Yemeni government and institutions to show a power vacuum.
Abu Ali Al-Hadrami considered that the dismissal of the former governor of Shabwa, Muhammad Saleh bin Adyo, who is affiliated with the Islah party, and the appointment of the governor, Awad bin Al-Wazir Al-Awlaki in his place, is part of a broader scheme aimed at empowering the Arab coalition and the forces supported by it within the Yemeni regions.
The al-Qaeda leader claimed that the scheme aims to bring down the rest of the areas controlled by the Islah party in the south of the country (such as Hadhramaut, Mahra, and Abyan) in the hands of the forces backed by the Arab coalition, and to reduce the party’s influence inside Yemen, considering that the Arab coalition wants to cut the wings of the Brotherhood. According to him.
