The government confirmed, in a statement issued at dawn today, Sunday, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the procedures are the same that have been being dealt with since the beginning of the truce announced on April 2, 2022, and they are exactly the same procedures that are applied in the rest of the Republic’s ports.
The statement revealed that the Houthi militias, since last August 10, have forced companies and traders of oil derivatives to violate the laws in force and the mechanism in place to import oil derivatives through the ports of Hodeidah since the announcement of the truce on April 2, 2022, explaining that this led to obstructing the entry of oil derivatives ships on a regular basis in accordance with the terms of the armistice. The statement stressed on behalf of the Yemeni government to the international community and to all its citizens in all of Yemen, especially in the areas under the force of the Houthi militias, that the Houthi militias are seeking to create a crisis of fake oil derivatives with the aim of pumping the stored quantities of oil, which were entered from the beginning of the truce as commercial quantities to the black market to double the group’s profits from it, pointing out that 35 ships were unloaded in the port of Hodeidah, which are all ships that submitted their orders during the period, and they carried a quantity of derivatives estimated at 963,492 tons.
The statement indicated that although the militias obtain all Hodeidah revenues from taxes, customs and other revenues, they are fabricating this crisis in order to deprive the citizens of oil derivatives and deprive them of their salaries due in accordance with the Stockholm Agreement, stressing that when they do so, they violate the provisions of the existing armistice and ignore the humanitarian consequences for the Yemeni people
In its statement, the government held the militias of Iran's arm responsible for any crisis due to the absence or high prices of oil derivatives, assuring the entire Yemeni people and the international community its commitment to the terms of the armistice.
It called for obligating the militias to end the artificial crisis and stop absurd practices to force derivatives companies and traders to violate the legal procedures followed in all Yemeni ports.
