Washington intensifies its contacts with the Yemeni Presidential Council before the end of the armistice

In a call with members of the Presidential Leadership Council, the US special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, stressed the importance of their support for the renewal of the United Nations armistice, and the expansion of the tangible benefits it brings to Yemenis throughout the country.
In an interview with a member of the Presidential Command Council, Brigadier Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, Lenderking stressed the need for the terrorist Houthi militia to lift the siege on the city of Taiz, saying that there is an "urgent need to open the roads leading to Taiz, which is the third largest city in Yemen, and that It is humanitarianly necessary to improve access to it, as the people of Taiz have suffered so far.”
In the context, the US envoy, during a phone call with a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Othman Majali, welcomed the United Nations truce, and said, "The United States is aware of the bold steps taken to improve the lives of Yemenis, including flights, fuel, and support for peace efforts," according to a statement. During his phone call with a member of the Presidential Command Council, Major General Sultan bin Ali Al-Arada, the US special envoy to Yemen, Tim Lenderking, welcomed the calm provided by the United Nations armistice to the Yemenis.
Lenderking said: “ The armistice creates an environment for expanding economic opportunities, and we look forward to working with the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council to seize this opportunity.”
