Aden, NewsYemen, special:

The issue of closing the "YOU" company in the liberated areas resumed interaction after a press interview with the head of the Omani company, Abdullah bin Zahran, in which he described what the legitimate government had done in Aden as an illegal procedure.

Zahran indicated in a press interview published by "Aden Al-Ghad" newspaper, that the company filed a lawsuit in Aden against the procedure and demanded compensation, pointing out that the case was postponed for three times, although it is an urgent case, he said.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company defended the validity of the deal of the Omani Al-Zubair Company’s purchase of the MTN branch in Yemen and its transfer to the “YOU” company, despite the objection of the Ministry of Communications of the legitimate government, saying only that “it was done in accordance with Yemeni law” and said that the company had “sufficient documents to confirm that."

While Zahran clearly evaded denying the new company's relationship with the Houthi group, the man claimed in the interview that the company had communicated with the government in Aden and said that it had not received any response or objection from it, which was denied by a source in the ministry with a statement circulated by local media in Aden.

The source clarified that the government side represented by the ministries of communications, information technology, industry, commerce and legal affairs had not received any request from "YOU" to establish a communications network or restart fourth generation services on the liberated Yemeni lands.  As well as the failure of the Omani-Yemeni company to submit any documents or legal documents with the government authorities.

He stressed that what the "YOU" company had done in installing the company's towers and operating the 4G service in Aden and the liberated governorates without the knowledge of the government was incomprehensible or logical, referring to the previous statements directed by the ministry towards the "MTN" company and filing a lawsuit against the company because of its violations of the agreement concluded with  The government's failure to abide by its covenants and the evasion of its entitlements.

The language of escalation by the Omani company against stopping its services in the liberated areas, observers see it as an exploitation of the state of popular discontent among the residents of these areas against the government, and a reminder of its continuous failure for 7 years in the telecommunications file and creating an alternative to the services of telecom companies in Sana’a, and its contentment with issuing promises.

The last of these promises was made by the current Minister of Communications / Najeeb Al-Auj in early May, as he promised to launch the Aden Net service in 5 liberated governorates within a period not exceeding 3 weeks, and to launch a fourth generation communication company within less than two months.

The editor of "Newsmen" tried to obtain clarifications about the delay in implementing these promises after 3 months of their release, by asking the media official to the minister, who promised to respond to them, so that 10 days passed without a response from him.
