The Ministry of Finance said that the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital, Aden, suspended financial reinforcements for annual bonuses for state employees in about 27 facilities for the years from 2014 to 2020.
A source in the ministry stated that the Central Bank administration did not reveal the reasons for stopping the bonuses for state utilities employees sent to it by the Ministry of Finance, considering this measure affects the salaries and financial dues of employees in light of the current difficult circumstances.
The Ministry of Finance had announced, last Friday, the launch of annual bonuses for all facilities that fulfill their procedures, according to the fatwas issued by the Ministry of Civil Service, calling on the various parties, which were not covered by the exchange, to quickly submit their data, as well as correcting the data for those who did not meet the bases for disbursing the allowances, according to the circular of the Ministers of Civil Service and Financial No. 11 of 2021
In late November, the Yemeni government approved the release of annual bonuses for state employees for all public service units at the central and local levels and for deferred units for the years 2014-2020. Based on the offer submitted by the Minister of Civil Service and Insurance, given the current difficult economic and living conditions.
The government's decision came as part of its efforts to improve the income level of state employees and enable them to face the repeated rises in the prices of basic commodities in light of the continuous collapse of the local currency against foreign currencies.
The government directed the Ministries of Finance and the Civil Service to complete the procedures, in accordance with the rules, principles and executive procedures regulating this, which were prepared by the Ministry of Civil Service.
