Southern politicians and media professionals demanded the speedy disbursement of the salaries of the southern forces, which have been suspended for more than two months, in light of a wave of exorbitant prices and high prices in the country in general.
Southern activists launched a hashtag on Twitter to demand the payment of the salaries of the forces that secure the capital and the cities of the south and are linked on several fronts in the face of the Houthi militia.
The salaries of the southern forces were suspended for more than two months, and the last salary was paid to the forces at the end of last Ramadan.
Media professionals said that the forces that succeeded in breaking the Iranian project and are constantly exposed to terrorist attacks should not be fought, and their salaries are supposed to be paid regularly and supported.
Sources in the southern forces had confirmed preparations for disbursing a salary of two months before Eid al-Adha, but that did not happen after that, without explaining the reasons. After that, the leadership of the southern forces announced the disbursement of 100,000 riyals as a tip to members of the forces until all arrangements and procedures for the payment of salaries are completed, but they faltered.
The southern politician, Fahd Al-Khulaifi, said that it is unreasonable for the soldiers who achieved victory over the Houthi militia to stand in front of the organizations to obtain aid for their families because of the suspension of their salaries.
Al-Khulaifi added, in a tweet to him, "It is inconceivable that those who achieved victory over Al-Houthi, preserved the homeland and the dignity of its people, gave their lives and blood and are still in their trenches, begging for a food basket to fill their families' hunger from humanitarian programs or international organizations."
He pointed out that "the matter has reached a point that should not be tolerated, and our southern leadership bears full responsibility for that."
Al-Khulaifi added, "There is no good in us if we do not support our soldiers stationed on the fronts and deliver their voice to the decision-makers, and this is the least we must offer them."
The media, Reem Al-Awlaki, called on the leadership council to intervene and pay the salaries of the soldiers who supported the Arab project.
Al-Awlaki said, "The salaries of the southern forces, our soldiers who sacrificed themselves for the sake of the Arab project, are victorious today without rights and without salaries. This is how the favor is returned, our leadership council."
She pointed out that it is a shame that soldiers without salaries defend a people without services in order to protect a corrupt official.
Soldiers from the First Brigade, Support , went out in a demonstration on Saturday morning to demand payment of salaries.
Dozens of soldiers participated in the peaceful demonstration and demanded the leadership to pay their salaries suspended for months.
The demonstration was held in the Buriqa district, and soldiers threatened to continue the demonstration and protests until their rights were paid.
Journalist Adel Al-Madwari commented on the demonstration by saying, "If the wolf is wounded, it becomes more fierce and stronger. Today, angry protests are held by the support and backing brigades in the capital, Aden, as well as some units in the southern armed forces, and the whole people are impatient and fed up."
Al-Madawori added, "I see an earthquake hungry revolution that does not remain or shrivel in Aden and the southern governorates...so beware, you who do not know the south."
