Aden, NewsYemen:

On Monday, the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Al-Alimi, called on the Yemeni political components to rally around the goal of restoring the state and rebuilding its destroyed institutions.

Today, Al-Alimi returned to the capital, Aden, after a working visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, during which he held consultations on the sidelines of the Arab-American summits hosted in Jeddah earlier this week.

According to the Yemeni news agency "Saba", the presidential visit included talks with US officials on the latest developments in Yemen and the chances of achieving peace and stability in the country according to national, regional and international references.

In his meetings with US officials, Al-Alimi presented the official position on the ongoing peace efforts, and the US and international pressures required to push the Iranian-backed Houthi militia to deal seriously with these efforts and initiatives, and end the long-standing suffering of the Yemeni people.

The Chairman of the Leadership Council praised the unified Arab and American position that resulted from the Jeddah summit in favor of the Yemeni cause, the references for a comprehensive solution, and the emphasis on obligating the Houthi militia to implement the terms of the armistice under the UN declaration, and opening the main roads leading to the city of Taiz and other governorates.

He praised the Arab and international consensus on the need to maintain stability in Yemen, the importance of this to the security of the region, and the freedom of trade through strategic sea lanes, especially Bab al-Mandab and the Strait of Hormuz.
