Abyan, NewsYemen, private:

In the past weeks, a recruitment process with unknown goals began in the governorate of Abyan, which sparked widespread controversy.

One of the ex-military began the process of registering conscripts in the central region, and it witnessed a great turnout despite the absence of official directives, due to the difficult economic conditions experienced by citizens in the region.

The difficult conditions forced young people in Abyan governorate to register in the hope of getting a salary to provide the most basic necessities of life.

Abdullah Sheikh Al-Saeedi, a former military youth, said in press statements that he began recording to establish a brigade under the name "Happy Yemen" in the central region, but he did not indicate in his statements that he had received instructions to register.

Private sources close to Al-Saeedi said that the registration was without official directions from the Presidential Council or other parties, and it was only an attempt to establish a force that would be approved to obtain the money.

The sources stated that Al-Saeedi is seeking to meet with the leadership of the Presidency Council to obtain official directions to establish the brigade, noting the failure of all the efforts he made in the past weeks to adopt the force.

According to the sources, the parties and forces present on the ground did not stand behind the registration process and came merely to obtain money and promotions and to adopt a force to benefit financially.

Military leaders in Abyan warned against these behaviors and registration outside the scope of the official military institution, explaining the importance of the Command Council's supervision of all forces and adherence to its directives and rejecting everything that comes without the official roads of the state.

The leadership of the Transitional Council in the Al-Mahfad district warned against this suspicious recruitment of young people in the governorate.

In a meeting on Saturday morning, the commission referred to what it called "the luring of unemployed youth into suspicious recruitment in the directorate and luring them for exploitation because of their spontaneity and their difficult living conditions."

At its meeting, the executive body condemned "all suspicious acts of recruitment of young people in the directorate by unknown parties whose source we do not know."  as her saying.

The commission recommended the governorate’s political leadership and the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council to absorb the southern resistance and unemployed youth in the district within the southern armed forces.

This comes after the recent revelations of the recruitment of hundreds of young people in Abyan Governorate under the name "The Happy Yemen Brigades";  Without knowing the real party behind it.
