Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Sources working in the health sector in Sana'a revealed the death of 4 Yemeni women, as a result of medical errors in the Seventy Maternity and Childhood Hospital run by the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - since its coup in September 2014.

Staff at the hospital - which is the pivotal hospital and the first in the field of maternity and childhood in the Republic of Yemen - told (NewsYmen) that 5 Yemeni women were hospitalized in cases of childbirth who died in the maternity department of the hospital during the first week of this June, pointing out that  The hospital administration has opened an investigation into these incidents, with great secrecy.

The sources indicated that emergency cases suffer from fainting, convulsions, and coma, in addition to memory loss and severe bleeding, which are similar symptoms that end with their death.

Local sources and hospital visitors suggested that the causes of deaths in the maternity ward are the result of fatal medical errors, the use of damaged medical drugs, or the misuse of intrauterine needles for childbirth before the time for natural delivery is due, which are mainly caused by mismanagement of the hospital and the health sector in general.

Since its armed coup in 2014, the Houthi militia has been practicing unprecedented destruction and corruption of the health sector through the Houthi leader and mosque preacher, Taha Al-Mutawakil, who was appointed as the hypothetical minister of health in Sanaa.

The latter issued a decision earlier to appoint his sister-in-law, the Houthi leader, Magda Al-Khatib, as director of the Al-Sabeen Hospital in the framework of the Hawthna series of state institutions, looting the allocations and revenues of government hospitals, and acquiring grants and financial aid provided by international organizations to these hospitals.

Like other state service institutions, the Seventy Hospital in Sana'a, which is the largest hospital in Yemen specializing in motherhood and childhood, witnessed the process of replacing medical staff and nurses with cadres affiliated with the Houthi militia that do not have any qualifications.

Sources working in the hospital revealed earlier to NewsYemen that the Houthi leader, al-Khatib, had brought a number of female members of the Zainabiyat wing to the ranks of the group, and replaced them in the hospital as nurses and assistant doctors, without qualifications, which has become a threat to patients and the entire hospital, which  He is no longer able to provide any services as before.
