Shabwa, NewsYemen, private:

Local sources told NewsYemen that the Houthi militia has begun preparations to celebrate the "birthday of the Prophet" in three districts in Shabwa Governorate, southern Yemen.

The sources stated that the militia supplied "Bayhan" power stations with quantities of fuel (diesel) in preparation for the celebration of the Prophet's birthday.

The Houthi militia has turned the Prophet’s birthday into a seasonal occasion, which it uses to devote its sectarian ideas in its areas of influence, as well as to mobilize combat and collect financial royalties on citizens.

The Houthis are racing against time for spread their ideas in the districts of Ain, Usaylan and Al-Olaya, west of Shabwa, after they took control of them without a fight last month, while the local authority and military units loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood in the province are committed to the role of spectator, which reinforces their complicity in handing over the area.

In the context, sources told NewsYemen that the Houthi militia is exerting great pressure on the parents in the three districts to return their children to school.

The militia had forced the schools of the Bihan districts to reopen their doors, after suspending the educational process, but the students boycotted them, and an unlimited number of classes did not attend and left after the morning queues.

Earlier, the Houthis gathered a large number of clerics, leaders and dignitaries of the Baihan tribes, and transported them to Sana'a to hold meetings with the group's leadership there.
