Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Political sources in the capital, Sanaa, revealed to NewsYemen, the continued refusal of the Minister of Public Works and Roads in the government under the control of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, Ghaleb Mutlaq, to return to Sanaa, despite the passage of more than a year since he traveled outside Yemen.

The Minister of Works, who is counted on the share of the General People’s Congress and its allies in the government under the control of militias, Ghaleb Mutlaq, left the capital, Sana’a, on a flight to the Omani capital, Muscat, before moving from there to the British capital, London, for the purpose of receiving treatment.  London for treatment since taking office in the Houthi government.

Minister Ghaleb Mutlaq, who comes from the southern governorate of Al-Dhalea, is one of the southern leaders present in Sana’a, which represented the peaceful and close southern movement in its orientations with the General People’s Congress, which included it as part of its share in the government that it formed with the Houthis in accordance with the partnership agreement in 2016 AD, which the militias turned against after a year and a half  And she ended it completely after she assassinated Ali Abdullah Saleh, the former president of the Republic, the head of the General People’s Congress, and his companion, Arif Al-Zoka, in December 2017, when she launched her war on President Saleh and his house in the center of Sana’a.

According to the sources, Mutlaq justifies his refusal to return to Sanaa by the practices of the Houthi militia, which ended the partnership, especially after killing Saleh, confiscating his powers and constitutional and legal powers, seizing the allocations and funds of the Roads Maintenance Fund and transferring its subordination to the Ministry to the office of the presidency, where the leader of the Houthi militia Ahmed Hamid became director  The Office of the Presidency is responsible for supervising the disbursement of the budgets and allocations of the Fund and the huge sums of money it obtains as aid from international organizations, as well as Hamid’s practice of financial corruption by assigning it to the projects implemented by the Fund in relation to road maintenance with external support to contractors and engineers loyal to the militias or close to it in return for it  Get huge financial commissions.

The sources say that Mutlaq told some of the political leaders who contacted him in an attempt to persuade him to return that the Houthi militia does not believe in partnership even with its leaders from the north. As for the issue of partnership with the people of the south, it is an issue that does not exist in the thought and policies of the Houthi militia, and therefore the talk is about representation  Southerners under a racist, sectarian and dynastic government have become impossible.

The sources, who spoke to NewsYemen, added that, on the other hand, leaders in the Houthi militia are pressing for the appointment of a new minister to replace Minister Ghaleb Mutlaq, justifying this by accusing him of practicing financial corruption in his ministry by spending large sums of money from the allocations of the Roads Maintenance Fund, and the allocations of the ministry.  For his personal account, noting that these leaders are seeking to replace one of their elements with an absolute alternative, but these attempts have not succeeded so far, due to the continued demand of some leaders in the General People’s Congress from the people of the southern governorates in Sana’a to wait and give them the opportunity to continue their efforts to persuade Minister Mutlaq to return.
