Interim President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi admitted the failure of the Stockholm Agreement concluded by his government, with the Houthi militia, under the auspices of the United Nations and its envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, in December 2018, in Sweden.
This came during his meeting on Monday, at his residence in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, with Swedish Foreign Minister "Anne Lind" and Swedish Special Envoy to Yemen, Peter Semneby.
Hadi said that the peace agreement that was agreed upon in Sweden did not achieve anything, according to the "Saba" agency.
He pointed out that the Houthi group took advantage of the agreement to disrupt international navigation through boats, booby-trapped boats and other violations and violations, taking advantage of the truce declared in the Hodeidah governorate, according to which a ceasefire was declared after the joint forces arrived in the city and were just around the corner from being completely cleared.
He said that Al-Houthi, and his successor, the Iranian regime, is a group that does not believe in coexistence and peace and is only fluent in the language of weapons, and this is what was confirmed by the experiences of dialogue and its various stations, including the Stockholm consultations, which did not care about them or implement any of its provisions.
However, Hadi reiterated his desire for peace and made concessions to inflict blood, and said, "Our hands are still outstretched, and we always call for an end to the war and the establishment of peace to uphold the interest of the country and end the suffering of the Yemeni people."
