Aden, NewsYemen:

The UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, said that Yemen will not be governed on the basis of internal or external military dominance in a sustainable manner, noting that it is difficult to shift from a time of war to peace, which requires the acceptance of the parties and the courage to get rid of war and progress to peace.

Griffiths said, during a press conference at the end of his visit to Sanaa, "We are working hard to bring in food commodities and open ports, and we hope that we will reach that. The obstacles to obtaining goods and fuel for Yemenis must be removed, as the flow of basic commodities must be ensured, including Fuel is a matter of principle regardless of what principles.”

He stressed that the ceasefire is a humanitarian process, and opening roads is essential so that children can go to school, which is a humanitarian thing, and we see these issues as very important," hoping that "regional support and the work we did during the year lead to a fruitful conclusion to this work."

Griffiths stressed that "the continuation of military operations, including in Marib, undermine the prospects for peace and endanger the lives of millions."

In this context, he announced that "the United Nations has contacted all parties for a ceasefire, a halt to the flow of arms in Yemen, and a re-launch of the political process."
