The Al-Wadiah terminal in Hadramout governorate witnesses a heavy crowd of Yemeni travelers returning to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after spending the Eid Al-Fitr holiday among their families in the governorates of Yemen.
The traffic jam reached 20 kilometers at the entrance to the port on the Yemeni side, in which travelers spend three to four days until they reach the passport sealing window at the depositary terminal.
Activists on social media circulated video clips and videos showing the size and intensity of congestion inside the Al-Wadiah outlet and poor services at the port, especially for families due to the lack of toilets, the weakness of groceries, the lack of restaurants and the lack of water coolers, as the price of a one-liter bottle of mineral drinking water reached one thousand Yemeni riyals. .
The Al-Wadiah outlet is the only Yemeni outlet leading to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the governorates under the control of Sharia and the rest of the governorates of the Republic currently.
In this regard, the General Director of Al-Wadiah Land Port, Mutlaq Al-Sayari, denied in a tweet on his Twitter account that "NewsYemen" monitored the closure of the port to Yemeni travelers who came to a large extent after the Happy Eid holiday, pointing to the port's work with its full capacity to receive any numbers that reach it continuously without interruption. He did not explain the reasons for delaying the entry of hundreds of travelers to Saudi Arabia and their accumulation at the port on the Yemeni side.
While a source working at the Al-Wadiah port confirmed to "Newzimen" that the accumulation of hundreds of travelers and their congestion at the port is due to the delay in entering Yemenis from the Saudi port due to their strict procedures on expatriates of Yemeni nationality in addition to reducing their work hours and taking a break from time to time, in addition to the lack of The numbers operating in customs and public passports on the Saudi side.
During the past week, 12 thousand Yemeni expatriates and workers working in Saudi lands entered the territory of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who had immunized with the vaccine against the transmission of the Coronavirus "Covid-19".
