Security sources in Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, revealed that 76 liquidation operations have been recorded within the group since the beginning of this year, as part of what is known as the wings struggle.
According to the sources, 43 assassinations out of 76 operations were successful, while about 33 attempts were unsuccessful, some of which resulted in varying casualties.
Most of the assassinations were carried out against unknown persons, while the Houthi militia directly accused elements in the areas under its control of carrying out a limited number of assassinations.
According to the sources, the assassinations during the first quarter of 2021, which targeted Houthi leaders, security, social, cultural, and tribal leaders, reached nearly 76 people, indicating that they included field and military leaders, all of which were not without suppression and humiliation of the victims' families, in direct and indirect ways.
The spirit of revenge was also present in the list of the Houthi militia's assassinations, especially in light of the pressure they exercised aimed at imposing forced recruitment operations against Houthi leaders and supervisors in Sana'a, Dhamar, Ibb, Amran, Al-Bayda, Al-Mahwit, and areas under the group’s control in Al Dhalea, Al Hodeidah and Taiz.
Among the most prominent crimes of recent liquidations is the attempt to kill the leader called Munir al-Samawi, appointed by the militia as director of security in the city of Al-Bayda in the middle of last week, which resulted in the death of one of his companions and the injury of another, in response to the killing of a citizen under torture in one of the Houthi militia's detention centers in the city.
In the city of Ibb, (the center of the country), local sources revealed the assassination of a militia leader, when unidentified gunmen, more than a week ago, killed a Houthi leader named Abu Hussein al-Gharbani in the Qahza area in Al-Udain.
According to the sources, the gunmen set a tight ambush for the Houthi leader and his companions on the line connecting (Ibb - Al-Udain - Al-Jarahi Al-Hodeidah ) and sprayed him with bullets, killing him instantly and a number of his companions.
The Houthi leader "Al-Gharabani" was accused by the people of villages in the areas of Qahza, Mashoura and others in the same governorate of being behind forcing dozens of families under the force of threat, weapons and deprivation of services and assistance to hand over their children by force to fight with the ranks and fronts of the militia.
The terrorist militia resort to extreme secrecy through its media about such operations targeting dozens of its leaders and supervisors, while announcing a few of them, especially those whose news is leaked to the media and their families try to exert pressure to reveal the perpetrators, in addition to the fact that they use the method of clash between tribal groups in such operations.
