Sources close to the Houthi group said that the latter had received financial support and in-kind assistance from the State of Qatar through Qatari institutions that operate under the cover of charitable aid.
The sources indicated that the support was provided to the Houthis through the Qatar Charity, which is one of the largest non-governmental organizations in the Arab world and that Qatar uses to deliver material or in-kind support to groups, movements and political forces in some countries under the name of charitable aid.
According to the sources, the month of Ramadan was used to pass financial support and Qatari in-kind assistance to the Houthi militia under the name of relief aid for the poor, the needy and the needy.
It indicated that many questions were raised about this aid because it was allocated for distribution to media institutions under the control of the Houthi militia in Sana'a, such as the official Yemeni TV (Yemen Channel), Saba, Al-Iman, Aden and educational channels, official radio stations, the Sheba Agency and Al-Thawra newspaper, in addition to the militia media institutions, including Al-Masirah TV and Al-Masirah newspaper, as well as the radio stations and channels funded and run by the militias, most notably the Hawiyyah and Al-Lahza channels, Sam FM radio, and Watan.
The sources indicated that the coordination process between the militias and Qatari officials in the Qatar Charity was carried out by figures affiliated with the Islah Party (the Yemeni branch of the Muslim Brotherhood) residing in Doha.
The sources said: The use of the Qatar Charity aims to cover the size and quality of the large financial support Qatar provides to the Houthi militias.
The sources added, "NewsYemen", that the Houthi militia, despite preparing lists of the names of all employees in official media institutions, but they have intended to distribute Qatari aid to its members who work in these institutions and deprived the rest of the employees of aid, although many of them found their names in private statements with the aid, copies were delivered to the Qatari Authority.
