Al Bayda, NewsYemen:

The Houthi leader, Munir Al-Samawi, appointed by the militia as director of security in Al-Bayda city, escaped Tuesday from an assassination attempt that resulted in the death of one of his companions and the wounding of another after a citizen was killed under torture in a militia detention facility in the city.

Local sources said that the tribal sheikh loyal to the militia, Sheikh Saleh Abdul-Qawi Saleh Al-Hamiqani fired their weapons at the "heavenly" security leader in a hospital in the city, killing one of his companions and wounding another, while the heavenly Houthi leader escaped and managed to flee.

The sources indicated that this armed attack came after Sheikh Al-Hamiqani was informed of the torture of his brother-in-law during his interrogations in one of the Houthi militia detention centers in the city of Al-Bayda.

The sources indicated that Al-Hamiqani went to his home in the district center of Al-Zahir after the failure of the operation, before surrendering himself to the Houthis, after understandings between him and Houthi sheikhs decided to transfer him to one of their prisons in the governorate center.

It is worth noting that Sheikh Al-Moutawhah Saleh Abdul-Qawi Saleh Al-Hamiqani is the brother of Sheikh Ahmed Abdul-Qawi Al-Hamiqani, who was appointed by the Houthi militia as director of Al-Zahir Directorate before he was killed by an explosive device at the end of 2019.
