Houthi militias topped the list of perpetrators of violations against Yemeni journalists, according to an unofficial report during the month of April.
A report prepared by the Media Freedom Observatory, a Yemeni platform dedicated to advocating for journalists’ cases, recorded 8 cases of violations against media freedoms, including 7 cases in the Houthi militia-controlled areas and one case in the Marib governed by the Brotherhood.
Violations of the Houthi militia were distributed in 3 governorates, including 5 in the capital, Sana'a, and one in Ibb, and another in Hodeidah.
The cases of violations varied between issuing a death sentence against 4 journalists, two kidnappings, a journalist’s suspension from work, and a break-in and suspension of Radio Samara FM in the central city of Ibb.
