The areas of the Tur Al-Baha district, north of Lahj governorate, in southern Yemen, have been witnessing a massive military campaign for weeks, as part of the efforts aimed at strengthening security and stability and ending the state of chaos that the district has experienced for years.
Great achievements were achieved by the campaign under the leadership of the 2nd Brigade Giants, starting with raising the collection points and the armed sectors that were spread along the main line known as the (Aden-Taiz) line, and ending the state of security imbalances within the district. In addition to destroying the dens of the smuggling cells, which spread widely and took the areas of Tur Al-Baha as a starting point.
The ongoing military campaign, which is supervised by the Commander of the Second Giants Brigade, Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, was widely welcomed and praised, and restored hope to the residents of the Tur Al-Baha district, who are eager for security and stability and an end to the imbalances and chaos that the district has experienced for years.
The return of safety and security
The citizen, Mahmoud Medhat, from the capital, Aden, spoke to "Newsyemen": During the past years, many collection and extortion points spread along the Tur Al-Baha line that connects to Haijat Al-Abed in Taiz Governorate, pointing out that these points were intimidating and blackmailing travelers and forcing cargo truck drivers to pay illegal fees.
He pointed out that he visits his relatives who live in the liberated city of Turbah from time to time, noting that he witnessed many incidents of interruption and harassment that were carried out by armed elements at the points scattered on the Tur Al-Baha road, explaining that after the second brigade forces launched a giants campaign to enhance security And stability, last May, those points were lifted and all elements and gangs trying to sow chaos and spread terror and panic among travelers and drivers passing on the main road between Lahj and Taiz were pursued.
He said: Today we are traveling safely without any fear of interruption and collection, thanking the giants forces and the security and military forces participating in the campaign for their efforts in restoring safety and tranquility not only to the people of Tur Al-Baha, but to passers-by and travelers.
The people of Tur Al-Baha confirmed that this is the first time that the district is witnessing a large and serious military campaign to impose security and stability, pointing out that the center of the district, the public market and the roads are today almost devoid of the armed manifestations that prevailed before the campaign.
They added that the public market was witnessing violent clashes between armed elements, which resulted in the death and injury of many innocent people, in addition to the interruption and extortion operations that merchants and travelers were subjected to at the hands of these gangs.
Counter terrorist action
The return of stability to the Tur Al-Baha district has aroused the ire of the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen, which is stationed in the Al-Akoum district of Taiz Governorate, adjacent to the district. Where the militias, through sleeper cells affiliated with them, began implementing a plan to create chaos with the aim of thwarting the military campaign.
The Commander of the Second Brigade, Giants, Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, revealed joint movements between the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen, and the gangs of terrorism and chaos in order to target the Tur Al-Baha district, explaining that the Houthi militia had established during the past days a number of new sites in the Al-Hakum area in order to cut off the road. The chief, known as the soil line "Hayjat al-Abed," said that the road-building mechanisms are currently digging and opening roads in the Al-Akoum Mountains in order to cut off the main road connecting between Lahj and Taiz.
These movements coincided with sleeper cells fueled by the Houthi militia carrying out organized operations, including the kidnapping of Sheikh Saddam al-Bokari - one of the leaders of the military campaign - and targeting the headquarters of the Transitional Council to thwart the campaign in the district.

Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri affirmed the continuation of the military campaign to track the gangs of chaos and terrorism from the entire district of Tur Al-Baha Al-Sabiha, north of Lahj Governorate, threatening to strike with an iron fist anyone who begged himself to compromise the security and stability of Al-Sabiha, calling on all tribal sheikhs to cooperate with the security forces and not allow chaos in their areas. .
The commander of the Second Brigade, Giants, stressed raising combat and military readiness on all border fronts to immediately and decisively confront any attacks by the Houthi militia, which is working to mobilize its members, stressing that the southern forces will be on the lookout for them if they try to advance.
Unifying Efforts
The movements of the giants' forces were in two axes: the first, field deployment and the start of raid campaigns to track down smuggling and terrorism cells, as well as creating coordination and joint cooperation with the security and military forces deployed in the district with the aim of strengthening defense lines to protect the district from any possible attacks by the Houthi militia.
Brigadier General Hamdi Shukri, commander of the 2nd Giants Brigade, presided over an expanded military and security meeting that included Lieutenant Colonel Mansour Al-Wadudi, Director of the Directorate's Security, Colonel Majdi Munadil, the commander in the Nation Shield Brigades, and Colonel Fedrine Taha Al-Masfari, the commander in the Tur Al-Baha military axis.
The military leaders participating in the meeting affirmed that the joint security and military campaign restored respect for all the people of Tur Al-Baha and the Al-Sabiha tribes, explaining that the military campaign stopped the state of chaos that was committed by armed gangs, including murders on the roads, and terrorizing citizens and shop owners.
The meeting discussed developments in the security situation in the Directorate and the achievements made since the launch of the security and military campaign last May, which laid the foundations for security, stability, peace and the preservation of public tranquility in the regions and center of the Directorate.
The military and security leaders thanked and appreciated all the sheikhs and notables in Tur Al-Baha and Al-Sabiha who expressed their willingness to cooperate and support with the leadership of the joint security and military campaign from the first moment.
Those leaders vowed not to allow the security and stability of the Directorate to be compromised, stressing the need to renounce and control extraneous phenomena to a peaceful society, stressing that they take all strict measures to prevent destabilizing security or disturbing public peace.
Extraneous manifestations
A prominent leader in the Security Belt forces in the Tur Al-Baha district confirms that there are extraneous manifestations in the region that the directorate did not know before, such as the detonation of explosive devices, kidnappings, systematic killings and other crimes fueled by partisan groups that are now known to all.
The staff of the security belt in the Tur Al-Baha sector, Ghassan Al-Subaihi, said, We regret what the directorate is suffering from malicious plots, planned by well-known people who we considered to be references for society, but they appeared in their true colors after the success of the security campaign, which is led by the commander of the second brigade giants Hamdi Shukri.
He pointed out that these leaders are now adopting a plan whose main goal is to confuse the scene in front of the campaign of the Giants' forces, to limit the spread of crimes and the carrying of weapons, adding that behind everything that is happening are political parties and former leadership figures known to all and they were in the directorate and others who are affiliated, and they will be disclosed soon.
In his speech, he noted that these elements and their leaders today do not rest in peace with the security and stability achieved by the security campaign, which made them lose their trade from which they used to live, even if it was illegal and forbidden, but they think that they will return to the situation to their previous era, by virtue of their association with smuggling of all kinds. As he said.
Al-Subaihi stressed that the security campaign and its leadership will not tolerate those people, and their leaders who do not want security and stability in the district, but rather strive with all their might to destabilize security and return the district to the square of violence, so that they can live at the expense of people's blood, honor and dignity.
