An attempt to smuggle drone engines to the Houthis via the Sultanate of Oman

 The security services in Al-Mahra Governorate, eastern Yemen, managed to seize a shipment of equipment and parts involved in the manufacture of unmanned aircraft, which was on its way to the Houthi militia - Iran's arm in Yemen.

 Security sources said that the forces stationed and the competent authorities at the Shahn border port with the Sultanate of Oman found pieces and equipment involved in making marches that were on their way to the Houthi militia, explaining that the forces suspected a commercial truck carrying about 30 boxes camouflaged with the logo of the Chinese company "Huawei".

According to the sources, the commercial truck arrived at a shipping port on January 5 through a clearance office known as "Al-Imtiaz", and a local importer working for the Houthi militia.

 It indicated that the truck was suspected and detained after confirming that the documents carried by the transport company and the clearance office were forged, explaining that the import company used documents indicating that they were spare parts belonging to the Yemen Mobile network, but the inspection team was able to find about 100 engines, which later turned out to be  Engines for drones on their way to the Houthi militia in Sana'a.

Special information indicates that the engines seized are typical "DLE170" engines, which are engines manufactured by a Chinese company that specializes in providing unmanned aircraft equipment.  

It has a weight of 3620 grams, a power of 17.5 horsepower or 7500 rpm, a height of 35 kg / 100 meters and a height of 31.5 kg / 1800 meters. The ignition voltage is 4.8V-8.4V.

Tehran is smuggling the "dynamo" engine to the Houthi militia, infrared lenses for accurate imaging from high air distances, as well as other parts such as sensors, sensors, antennas, the transmitting and receiving system, and electronic devices, while they are working on developing multiple designs for the external body inside Yemeni territory.

During the last period, the security and military forces stationed in Shahn, with the support of the Arab Coalition, were able to seize and thwart several smuggling attempts that included weapons, ammunition and military equipment used to operate ballistic missiles and drones.  Not to mention the smuggling of drugs and contraband coming from Iran, according to security investigations with the smuggling gangs that were caught.
