Aden, NewsYemen:

A British investigative website reported that the former United Nations envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, is linked to the British intelligence service, MI6.

The "Declassified" investigative website said that Griffiths, who currently runs the humanitarian work of the United Nations, co-founded and advised a private conflict resolution company that works closely with the British intelligence service MI6.  It includes among its secretaries and advisors a group of former British military and diplomatic figures.

Until August 2021, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Martin Griffiths, was the UN Special Envoy for Yemen.

It was reported that Griffiths worked on the establishment of "Intermediate" company, along with Jonathan Boyle, former chief of staff to Tony Blair, who is the CEO of the company.

Intermediate focuses on the most difficult, complex and dangerous conflicts where other organizations cannot work and brings together some of the world's leading experts in dialogue and negotiation.

The CEO of "InterMedit" said, "It started working in Yemen and Syria six years before Griffiths assumed the position of the United Nations envoy to Yemen, at a time when he was working as a senior advisor to the United Nations on Syria. It is not known whether the company is not  still active in Yemen."

The British Foreign Office promoted Griffiths to become UN Special Envoy for Yemen in February 2018. “A successful campaign to secure the appointment of a new UN Special Envoy to Yemen led to the appointment of British national and international mediation expert Martin Griffiths,” the ministry stated.
