A former military spokesman for the government forces in Al-Jawf Governorate (northeast of Yemen), the governor of Marib, and a member of the Presidential Leadership Council, accused Sultan Al-Arada of supporting the rebellion of the Islah Party, the local branch of the Brotherhood, against the decisions of the "Presidential Council".
Abdullah al-Ashraf, a former spokesman for the Sixth Military Region, called on al-Arada to lift what he called "the hand of guardianship over al-Jawf."
He said on his Facebook account: "Al-Jawf is an independent governorate that does not belong to the directorates of Al-Majma'a and Al-Wadi," referring to the two remaining districts in Ma'rib governorate under the authority of the Brotherhood, after the organization handed over 12 districts to the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen.
The former military spokesman expressed his condemnation and denunciation of any rebellion against the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council regarding the appointment of Major General Hussein Al-Awadi as Governor of Al-Jawf. At the same time, he called on the army commanders, sheikhs, and notables to determine the position and not be drawn into the directives of the ideological leaders (leaders of the Brotherhood organization) who only think about their personal and partisan interests and were the cause of the loss of the governorate and all its gains.
In the context, informed sources told "NewsYemen" that the governor of Marib, Sultan Al-Arada, is still dealing with the previous administration of Al-Jawf Governorate and refuses to deal with the directives of the governor, Al-Awadi, especially with regard to financial aspects.
The sources said that Al-Arada directed to approve the signature of the deputy of Al-Jawf Governorate and not to deal with the governor appointed by the Presidential Leadership Council, in the disbursement of government expenditures, for Al-Jawf Governorate, from the Central Bank branch in Marib.
