Al-Qaeda resorted to propaganda after suffering heavy defeats in Abyan
English - Thursday 10 November 2022 الساعة 03:13 pmAl-Qaeda in Yemen, through its media arm Al-Malahim, published a new visual version in which it attacked the countries of the Arab coalition, government forces, the Transitional Council and the national resistance.
In the version that bore the name "Arrows of Righteousness", the organization tried to create fake military victories after a series of successive defeats over the past months, especially in the Abyan governorate in southern Yemen.
The release included recordings of al-Qaeda members who carried out the attack on a security point belonging to the Security Belt forces on the sixth of last September in the Ahwar region of Abyan governorate.
Al-Qaeda showed in the recorded clips its members who were killed in that operation, including Al-Dahdah Al-Adani, Hamza Al-Hadrami, Dujana Al-Sanani, Sultan Al-Yafei and Al-Tazir Hamza.
In those clips, a prominent leader of the organization appeared, who was sitting next to about 28 of the organization's members, inciting them to fight and to carry out operations.
According to "Akhbar Alan", the leader who appeared to incite the elements is Abu Al-Hayja Al-Hadidi, and his position is the Emir of the organization in the governorates of Abyan and Shabwa.
The Emir of the organization in Abyan and Shabwa, Abu Al-Hayja Al-Hadidi, called on the elements heading to carry out the operation to be sincere in their intention and to invoke the intention of jihad, stressing that the fighter must intend in every operation he carries out out of love for God.
Although al-Qaeda did not carry out any military ambushes or military attacks except those that it carried out on the military point in the Ahwar region, it tried through the issuance to show that it was the decision-maker to change the military tactic and turn the attacks into IEDs.
According to observers, the organization's attempt to show that it made the decision to convert the attacks into improvised explosive devices is far from the truth, and its losses on the ground and the reduction of the geography it was occupying, and the spread of government forces, is what forced the organization to change its tactics in carrying out its attacks.
The release showed footage of the detonation of explosive devices targeting crews and military vehicles belonging to the joint forces in Abyan governorate during the past weeks, as well as footage of bombing operations carried out by the organization with guided missile and mortar shells.
