Al-Alimi .. Between "Al Fol (Jasminum Arabian ) and Hope of Aden" and the longing for "Truba Al-Halima"

Due to the Houthi-Brotherhood war that has raged for years, the majority of young people in Taiz governorate have been forced to leave their homes for the purpose of earning a living and providing a source of income for their families.

On the other hand, others preferred to move within areas liberated from the Houthis, so Al-Hajaria areas flourished, and their small markets turned into an active habitat that attracted business fleeing from Houthi oppression and the Brotherhood’s chaos.. Where the 35th Brigade and its respected commander, the martyr Adnan Al-Hammadi, were in charge.

One morning, he broke the back of Al-Hujariah   with the assassination of the brigadier general, and the chaos brigades stormed it, so the migrations began again.

Muhammad Al-Alimi, one of the young men of Taraba Al-Halima, was forced to move to the capital, Aden, to support his mother, his family, his four sisters, and his little brother, who is still ten years old.

Al-Alimi in his twenties took advantage of the summer season in the governorate of Aden, to work in the profession of selling (Fol &mashmoum ), where the city and its women are adorned with jasmine and mashmoum at weddings and occasions, and even on Thursday nights, which are known in Aden.

He weaves the fragrant jasmine "Al-Shardkha" with the most beautiful scents, and a smile of welcome and reception is drawn on his face. Al-Alimi says that he took the profession of selling jasmine because it was popular in Aden, in order to gain a number of customers through it. He was able to provide a medium income for his family in Taiz.

From the dawn of the sun until the evening, Al-Alimi sits on his seat and a small cart, and a book of wedding orders records, to weave the jasmine that he brings it from  Lahj governorate, which is famous for the finest types of jasmine mixed with mashmoum and caddy, to obtain an average income of ten thousand Yemeni riyals per day, especially in the summer season.

The prices of jasmine and mashmoum between one thousand and three thousand, while the price of the Shardkha- which covers the hair completely - according to the size of a meter of length of the  jasmine thread, and is considered appropriate with the purchasing power of the people.

Selling jasmine was not limited to Al-Alimi, as this profession has attracted many workers, as there is a special place in the city of Aden called “The Jasmine Tour”.  In the Crater area.  The tables of Al Fol arranged by the local authority of Aden appear harmoniously next to each other, as the seller of al-mashmoom prepares the raw materials of Fol and jasmine, and he is creative in making the mashmoum and is artistic in displaying it to appeal to the various segments.
