Al-Awlaki: How do we explain the silence of some leaders towards counter-terrorism operations
English - Thursday 15 September 2022 الساعة 07:30 pmThe editor-in-chief of the Abyan cultural magazine, Muhammad Nasser Al-Awlaki, criticized the silence of some political leaders and their lack of support for the anti-terror operations carried out by the southern forces in Abyan and Shabwa, while he rushed to lament the street vendors.
Al-Awlaki said, in a post on his Facebook account, “When you consider yourself a political leader, and some of your followers may consider you a leader and a symbol of struggle, and then a war and battles take place in your province to cleanse it of terrorism, the whole world talks about it and you remain silent. You have no comment on what is happening and you are committed. Neutrality is neither for nor against.
He pointed out that the same leaders are keen to release statements and publish statements about trivial matters and events, and sometimes even fabricated ones, that amount to lamentations on attacks on vendors' stalls and peddlers.
Al-Awlaki, a human rights activist, asked: "Oh fighter, politician, leader, etc. etc. etc., what can we say about your silence? How will we explain it?"
