In the vicinity of September 26, 2022 the 60th anniversary of the Yemeni Revolution, September 26, 1962, the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - forcibly ignores the manifestations of celebrating the national occasion of September 26, which all Yemenis unite on its greatness and the importance of celebrating its eternal memory in the conscience and feelings of Yemenis before the schedule of their holidays and National events.
Until Monday, September 12, 2022 AD, there are no festive appearances in Sanaa and its suburbs by the way. Electricity poles and rooftops of government institutions are empty of the banners of the Republic of Yemen, and national anthems are absent in the programs of satellite channels and official and private radio stations, and there are no festivals or ceremonial events in the programs of the concerned government agencies.
On the contrary, the Houthi militia went to mobilize officials of the virtual government, officials of local councils, members of parliaments, ministers, Shura, the Supreme Judiciary, officials of government institutions, interests and bodies, and officials of private sector institutions and civil society, to participate in the expected festive event on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, 1444 AH.
The Houthi militia issued a circular obligating the institutions and shops in Sanaa and the neighboring governorates to start hanging light and cloth decorations on the facades of shops and government buildings and on electricity poles along streets and public squares, in celebration of the religious occasion celebrated by Yemenis throughout history.
The Houthi militia takes advantage of these occasions for what it calls “strengthening mobilization efforts, strengthening the fronts and strengthening cohesion and alignment,” while continuing to target the national identity and symbolism of the Yemeni revolution in the collective memory, and trying to undermine the national struggle values and obliterate the lofty meanings of the principles and goals of the eternal Yemeni revolution (September 26-14 October - 30 November).
