On Monday morning, the southern forces entered the Modiyah district of Abyan governorate as part of the East Arrows campaign to secure the governorate from terrorism.

Citizens in the district said that the Security Belt forces entered the city and deployed in it and the neighboring villages.

Sources in the southern forces indicated that terrorist elements detonated an explosive device while a security group was passing through the city's western entrance, noting that soldiers were wounded in the explosion.

In addition, the forces confirmed their intention to advance towards the Al-Mahfad district, the last district of Abyan, towards Shabwa, and purify it of terrorist organizations.
