The central regions of Abyan governorate are witnessing mobilizations of al-Qaeda affiliates after the start of a military campaign by the southern forces to cleanse the governorate of terrorism.
And the southern forces announced, last week, the launch of a military campaign under the guidance of Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, and was able to reach the Ahwar district and spread in the coastal line that connects the capital, Aden, to the Hadhramaut governorate, amid preparations underway to deploy in the central region and Al-Mahfad and join forces with the Shabwa Defense Forces, which spread to the outskirts of Al-Mahfad. .
This week, large movements of the terrorist organization's elements were seen, especially in the Al-Wadaa district, to which the campaign is approaching through the coastal Al-Wadaa triangle.
Citizens confirmed that cars and crews carrying dozens of armed men known in the district to belong to Al-Qaeda are roaming the district and moving towards Mudiyah and Al-Arqoub.
The terrorist organization that mobilizes and gathers its elements is unable to stop the campaign and confront the large forces that set out to purify the governorate, and it is in its weakest state after purging Shabwa governorate from Brotherhood forces and tightening the noose around them in Abyan governorate.
The most dangerous thing is that the organization is receiving large sums of money these days and is buying weapons and ammunition from forces loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood in Abyan governorate.
Citizens in the Al-Wadaya district said that the money that reaches the organization’s elements is very large, pointing to the purchase by the organization and through tribal figures of kits and weapons belonging to the Brotherhood forces, the last of which was the purchase of two kits belonging to the Third Brigade, Presidential Protection, which is located in the Akad area, which officers from the brigade smuggled to Al-Wadaya. And selling them to the organization in an official and not covert manner.
The organization, according to residents, bought crews and other weapons from officers and soldiers in the Shaqra forces, with Brotherhood leaders arguing that they escaped and that the forces could not control them due to the lack of safety in the mountainous areas of Al-Wadaa.
Private sources confirmed that the money flowing into the organization in the past few days, rearranging its ranks and buying weapons came through leaders who recently fled to the Omani capital, Muscat.
Pro-Brotherhood leaders arrived in Muscat in the past weeks, headed by the commander of the 3rd Brigade, Presidential Protection, Louay Al-Zamki, the commander of the 5th Brigade, Sanad Al-Juld, and the commander of the Abyan Special Forces, Muhammad Al-Oban.
Transfers and funds through intermediaries flowed to the organization in the Al-Watha district and its leadership is quickly buying weapons to stop the military campaign, and all of this is done by the Brotherhood leaders to remain in control of the governorate, which has turned it into a den of terrorism.
