Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The Yemen Gas Company, which is under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia in Sana'a, has admitted using damaged cylinders that pose a threat to the lives of citizens.

The company said, in a statement, that it had received field reports of gas cylinders of unknown origin that do not conform to specifications and standards that pose a threat to the lives of citizens, without taking any measures.

The company warned citizens against using gas cylinders that do not conform to specifications and standards, in order to preserve their safety and lives - without taking any action to withdraw these cylinders or investigate their source, in disregard for the lives and lives of Yemenis.

It claimed that these reports indicated that many black market dealers (most of whom are Houthi leaders) unloaded liquefied household gas from cylinders that conform to the specifications to non-conforming cylinders and did so in public places with unsafe tools and equipment.

For seven years, the Houthi-controlled company has deducted a percentage of the value of filling each household gas cylinder, under the pretext of maintenance, but it has not withdrawn the damaged pipes from local markets, according to local residents.

Damaged gas cylinders are widespread in Sanaa and areas under the control of the Houthis, and they have caused dozens of casualties among citizens, dead and wounded, in recent years.
