Cairo, NewsYemen:

An Egyptian parliamentarian revealed that the Houthi militia had detained twenty Egyptian fishermen, after their ship pirated from the Red Sea more than a month ago, calling on the Egyptian authorities to act immediately and end the crisis.

And the newspaper, "Al-Masry Al-Youm", reported in its Saturday issue, that Representative Diaa El-Din Daoud, a member of the House of Representatives, said, "He submitted an urgent request for briefing to Dr. Hanafi Jabali, Speaker of Parliament, directed to Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, to submit it to my ministers.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and the Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, to demand the speedy intervention to release the detained fishermen in Yemen, reassure their families and return them to their families as soon as possible, after they were subjected to piracy by the Houthi militia, and confiscated the boat and its fishermen and imprisoned them.

He added: This crisis calls for "state intervention to restore the boat and the sailors immediately in order to preserve their lives and property."

Representative Daoud demanded that the request for briefing be urgently referred to the Arab Affairs Committee for discussion, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs or his representative, to end this crisis.

The newspaper said that a state of sadness prevails among the families of Egyptian fishermen detained in Yemen, after they received news of their imprisonment for 6 months, the confiscation of the boat and its contents, in addition to a fine of $25,000, after they were accused of crossing Yemeni territorial waters without a permit.

It quoted the wife of Ahmed Fawzy El-Jenini, the head of the boat, that her husband went out on the fishing boat “Nour El-Bahar” on March 18, accompanied by 19 fishermen, including fishermen from Ezbet El-Borg in Damietta and El-Mataria in Dakahlia, in addition to fishermen from Burullus in Kafr El-Sheikh.  As the boat set out from the port of Baranes, the fishermen were supposed to spend the month of Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr with their families, but on the 28th of last March, after nearly 10 days, they were surprised to receive the news of their arrest and detention by the Houthis in Yemen and taking them to prison.

The fishing boat "Noor Al-Bahar" left more than a month ago, specifically on March 18, from the port of Baranes in the Red Sea, on a fishing trip with 20 people on board, but they suddenly lost contact with others, as the Houthi militias in Yemen arrested them and taken to prison and imprisoned.
