Houthi royalties on pharmaceutical companies range from (3-5) million riyals under the name of steadfastness day support

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continues to impose levies and royalties under many names, including support for the war effort and the activities of the activities of what it calls the National Resilience Day, which includes collecting funds through donations by citizens or through royalties that they impose on merchants, the private sector, investors and companies.

Sources working in pharmaceutical companies in Sanaa told NewsYemen: The Houthi militia imposed an amount ranging between 3-5 million riyals on each pharmaceutical company under the name of supporting the activities and activities of the National Resilience Day, and the war effort, which is a collection that takes place outside all legal frameworks and has nothing to do with it.  Any revenues received by companies such as customs, taxes, zakat, cleaning fees, and any other legal fees.

The sources added that the militias use opportunistic methods in the operations of imposing and collecting these amounts from the owners and officials of the pharmaceutical companies, as they threaten them to withdraw work licenses sometimes, and sometimes they use the method of seizing and delaying the delivery of their medicines by holding them in the customs office of Dhamar Governorate, which the militias created in order to impose customs  An additional charge on all goods and merchandise entering Sana’a and its areas of control in violation of the constitution and laws, as these customs are delivered at the state’s border sea and land ports upon entry, and sometimes through daily harassment of these companies at their workplaces by sending representatives of the municipality and the hygiene fund, and sometimes the officials of the Works Office to impose  Fees on these companies under the name of violations
