Abyan, NewsYemen, private:

At least 15 people were killed and wounded, as a result of a suicide attack targeting the convoy of the commander of the security belt forces in Abyan governorate, Brigadier General Abdul Latif al-Sayed, on Tuesday morning.

The terrorist attack took place in a vertical area east of the city of Zanzibar, while al-Sayed was on his way to attend a party in the local authority complex in the capital, Zanzibar.

According to the sources, the attack was carried out by three al-Qaeda militants, one of whom was a suicide bomber who blew up a "Corolla" car he was driving, while the other two elements launched a weapon attack on the convoy after the explosion, indicating the killing of all terrorist elements.

Politicians believe that the terrorist attack carries political messages, as usual terrorist attacks in the past years, which are launched from a political point of view that serves well-known parties within the legitimate government.

The journalist, Yasser Al-Yafei, wondered about the secret of extremist groups targeting the southern forces alone.

Al-Yafei said, in his tweet, that terrorism has not found a way except for the southern forces for 7 years, and before that it only found the southern cadres in the military and civilian corps.

He pointed out that terrorism will fail and be destroyed in the south, and will revert to those who finance and plan these operations.

Political writer Khaled Salman said in a tweet to him, "Terrorism strikes with the bloody barbarism of Abyan, this morning, Tuesday, on the road linking Zanzibar and Jaar, targeting the commander of the Security Belt, Abdul Latif al-Sayed, with a car bomb, followed by heavy shooting after the attack."

He added, "The terrorist attack resulted in more than 15 dead and wounded, according to preliminary information, including the gentleman, whose injury was said to be not serious."

Salman pointed out that "the jihadist wing of legitimacy is fighting in the transitional south, under the beard and turban of al-Qaeda, providing it with material and logistical support, escaping from the pressures of the entitlements of the provisions of the military part of the Riyadh Agreement, by operating its reserves to fight proxy wars."

He stressed, "It is necessary to search not only for those who carry out terrorist operations, but also about the legitimate jihadist organizations that finance, and I mean here the office of the representative."

In another tweet, Salman said, "When the noose tightens on the people of the first region in Hadramout through the movement, the pressure valve is released in Abyan."

Southern journalist Hussein al-Qamli confirmed in his tweet, "The timing of the terrorist attack on leader Abdul Latif al-Sayed carries clear political messages from the Brotherhood, especially the important discussions that the transitional delegation held with the UN envoy to Yemen as part of efforts to achieve a political solution that made the south a major part."  From the political process that put the issue of the south on the table."
