Al-Houthi militia imposes new royalties in the city of Al-Qaeda, south of Ibb, and threatens the rejectionists with imprisonment
English - Thursday 10 March 2022 الساعة 03:04 pmThe terrorist Houthi militia imposed new royalties in the city of Al-Qaeda, south of Ibb (central Yemen).
Local sources told NewsYemen that the militia, through its sheikhs and supervisors, toured a number of streets and neighborhoods of Al-Qaeda city in the governorate and imposed new royalties on merchants, health facilities and private schools.
The sources indicated that the militia forces each shop owner to pay 100,000 riyals, threatening those who refuse with imprisonment.
The sources added that these varying levies came under the name of "supporting a war effort" with Houthi leaders' calls for the people to fight in the militia's ranks or support them compulsorily, amid mobilization operations for new fighters.
This coincided with the Houthi militia bartering citizens to support it with money in return for handing them their share of domestic gas, in a new extortion imposed by the militia on citizens in Sanaa and many areas under its control, where the militia demanded citizens to donate to support the campaign of what it calls the "Yemen Hurricane", and support the great convoy of memory The seventh for what it calls “steadfastness in the face of American aggression” (the anniversary of the launch of the Decisive Storm to support the legitimate government that was launched on March 26, 2015 ).
The sources pointed out that a state of widespread resentment and discontent prevailed among citizens and merchants in the city of Al-Qaeda as a result of the practices of the Houthi militia and the increase in its levies and royalties repeatedly and under different names, as well as the Houthi elements' dealing with them in a humiliating and immoral manner.
The sources indicated that a number of merchants said that the levies imposed by the militia will negatively affect the prices of commodities and foodstuffs, and consequently on people's livelihood.
