Testimonies from close people and journalists continued that the terrorist Houthi militia, Iran’s arm in Yemen, was behind the terrorist incident that affected the family of the displaced journalist, Mahmoud Al-Otmi, in the capital, Aden, yesterday, Tuesday, and resulted in the death of his media wife, Rasha Al-Harazi.
Through conversations published by journalists close to Al-Otmi, the Houthi militia conducted a search and investigation in Mahmoud's hometown, and collected all data about his place of residence and his family and all his movements after he was displaced from Hodeidah Governorate.
The political journalist, Nabil Al-Sufi, confirmed in a post that a few weeks ago, Mahmoud Al-Otmi, the most active of the displaced Hodeidah journalists in Aden, received Houthi threats to liquidate him and the journalists of his governorate.
He added: The man took the threats seriously and informed friends.
But he did not expect it to be carried out with this filth, as he thought it were personal assassinations, not for him and his wife to explode with an explosive device.
Journalist Bassim al-Jenani published a WhatsApp conversation between him and al-Otmi on October 6, and wrote a testimony to God and history: On October 6, my colleague Mahmoud al-Otmi contacted me and informed me that the Houthis had summoned some media professionals in Hodeidah to obtain information from them about his residence address and the type of his car in Aden and I advised him to leave Aden.
He added: He was prevented from this because his wife is about to give birth to her second baby and is waiting after she gives birth and leaves, so they were targeted today with an explosive device planted in his car.
He confirmed that the Houthis had previously kidnapped Mahmoud's brother to put pressure on him, and a number of media professionals were also kidnapped in Hodeidah, pending their contact with Mahmoud.
Journalist Iyad Al-Shuaibi said that Al-Otmi repeatedly complained about the monitoring of his phone calls, and wrote: "About two months ago I was making a phone call with my colleague Mahmoud Al-Otmi, and suddenly his voice disappeared and another person started talking to me in incomprehensible words.
I disconnected and called him again and told him about that. He said Yes, “they do that constantly.” He means they monitor his calls.
Al-Shuaibi stressed that the Houthi fingerprints in this crime exist, with the rest of the possibilities open, calling on the security of Aden to provide protection for Al-Otmi.
An official in the local authority in Al-Hodeidah governorate revealed that the Houthis summoned some media professionals in the governorate to obtain information about the address, residence and type of Al-Otmi's car in Aden last October.
Walid Al-Qadimi, Senior Undersecretary in Al-Hodeidah Governorate, said that “Mahmoud Al-Otmi is monitored as part of a revealing of the Tihama people, that terrorist militia and the Houthi coup are seeking to liquidate them in the coast and Aden to shuffle the cards.” According to him
