Academic: What is happening in Marib and Shabwa is a Brotherhood coup with Qatari-Turkish support

Dr. Khaled Al-Shamiri considered that what is happening on the Marib and Bayhan fronts is “a second coup led by the Brotherhood’s Islah party against Yemeni legitimacy with Qatari-Turkish support.”

Al-Shamiri said, in a tweet on his Twitter account, that the Brotherhood’s takeover of the decision of legitimacy and its army, is a coup similar to the Houthi coup against the state in Sana’a, 2014.

He added, "The difference between them is simple. The Brotherhood's coup is disguised as Hadi's legitimacy, and he is still using it to pass the agendas of Turkey and Qatar, which are pro-Iran."

He considered the withdrawal of the army forces loyal to the Islah party from the lines of contact with the Houthi militia as evidence of the coup.

Al-Shamiri believed that the Arab coalition can declare war on the Brotherhood, without compromising the legitimacy of the interim President "Hadi", pointing to the presence of forces capable of carrying out the mission and eliminating the Brotherhood and Houthi coup.
