Aden, NewsYemen:

Dr. Adel Baeshen, Deputy Director of the Kuwait Relief Society office in Yemen, said that the cost of the Kuwaiti Society's projects implemented in Yemen since 2015 has exceeded $100 million.

Baeshen stressed that the Kuwait Relief Society's funds are doubling in Yemen through new projects and urgent interventions to support the sustainability of basic public services and provide living assets for the neediest population.

During the past five years, the Kuwait Relief Society in Yemen implemented a series of development projects in eight main sectors: agriculture, fisheries, health, education, water, food, shelter, and the livelihood program.

Baeshen explained that the Kuwait Relief Society attaches great importance to the Livelihoods Program for Yemeni Communities to make people less vulnerable and more able to resist economic shocks, by developing skills and providing beneficiaries with productive assets and sustainable livelihoods.

He added, "We have given more space to large and vital projects, especially in the agricultural and fisheries sectors, because of their economic returns to the beneficiaries, income generation, job opportunities and the development of state resources."

The Deputy Director of the Kuwait Relief Society office in Yemen confirmed that the Kuwaiti Society's interventions come to enhance the capabilities of basic public institutions, sustainable livelihoods, economic empowerment of Yemenis, and turn them into self-reliant producers.

Dr. Adel Baeshen said that the Kuwait Relief Society has projects that are currently being implemented, and others in the future in all Yemeni governorates.

The Kuwait Relief Society works in all Yemeni governorates through the "Kuwait by your side" campaign, where its work crystallizes in providing support to the needy in the humanitarian sectors.
