Aden, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Popular ferment escalated in Shabwa governorate (southern Yemen) due to the scandal of the Brotherhood handing over Bayhan districts to the Houthi militia, last month, amid calls for the Arab coalition to intervene, especially with the major military setbacks that resulted in the districts of southern Marib governorate.

The level of boiling rose among the Shabwa tribes, within the testimonies of military leaders, some of them in the Ataq axis, which revealed additional information about the Brotherhood’s involvement in handing over areas in the west of the governorate to the Houthis, without a fight.

The circle of discontent expanded to include tribal leaders and prominent parliamentary figures in Shabwa, while the tribes collapsed to open camps for recruitment and prepare to expel the Houthi and Brotherhood militias alike.

And it warned of a malicious conspiracy run by the Brotherhood, which requires the handover of Shabwa completely to the Houthi militia, which began its chapters on September 21, after the militias seized 3 districts without a fight.

During the last days;  Prominent military leaders exposed the Brotherhood's conspiracy, which facilitated the Houthi militia's invasion of 3 districts, "Bayhan", "Usaylan" and "Ain", with the aim of expanding the Houthis' influence in the south and suffocating the Marib governorate.

And last Wednesday, Major Adel Battam, commander of the Salman Al-Hazm Brigade in the Ataq Al-Askari axis, revealed new information condemning the Brotherhood's militias to hand over the three Bayhan districts to the Houthi militia.

Major Batum appeared, in a video clip, in which he spoke about the betrayal of Bayhan, stressing that the Brotherhood’s military and civilian leaders in Shabwa paved the way for the handover of the three regions by reducing the level of combat readiness and withdrawing military capabilities.

He explained that the Brotherhood leaders in Shabwa removed the employees of the military units who are not loyal to the Brotherhood and the Houthis from Bayhan, and gave them an open leave in preparation for handing it over to the Houthis.

He stated that these leaders informed members and officers of the military units before the handover of Baihan, that the Houthis "will come to the Safra and Salim areas and that they will reach an understanding with them," stressing that they received the price of Baihan's delivery, and invested large sums of money in projects in areas controlled by the Houthi militia.

The military official, in the Ataq axis, warned of the Brotherhood's plan to hand over more areas to Al-Houthi, and said that the Brotherhood "sells Shabwa openly during the day, and the people of the governorate must rise and defend it."

The director of the office of the Ataq axis commander, and the 30th Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Nasser Alawi Al-Nassi, had appeared in a video clip, in which he confirmed that "the betrayal of the civil and military leadership of Islah and the handing over of Shabwa districts to the Houthis is documented, and that the fall of the three districts took place within a very short period of time, and without  No resistance."

Brigadier General Al-Nassi called on interim President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi to "take quick and decisive measures against all those involved in handing over the three districts to the Houthi militias," while warning the coalition leadership against the "Brotherhood's plan to hand over the rest of the governorate's districts" and demanded the Shabwa tribes "to protect and defend their areas."

And he touched on "the campaign of exclusion and marginalization practiced by the Brotherhood's military leaders in Shabwa, against the officers and military leaders of the province, and their replacement by Brotherhood members from among the newcomers, who were granted illegal military ranks."

The director of the office of the Ataq axis commander said that "preventing military-qualified and professional officers, who have high military ranks, from performing their role in their positions, and the Brotherhood's control over the military decision, is the reason for all the defeats and betrayal that the Shabwa governorate has witnessed and is witnessing."

Urgent intervention requests

Military leaders from the "30 Infantry" Brigade, the "19 Infantry" Brigade and the Ataq Axis, which are deployed in and around the capital of Shabwa Governorate, issued a series of warnings of the joint conspiracies of the Houthis and the Brotherhood.

Where the staff of the 30th Infantry Brigade in Shabwa, Colonel Ali Omar, called on the tribesmen and the coalition forces to intervene quickly to save the province from the schemes of the Brotherhood and the Houthis, expressing his readiness and his forces to work with the Saudi-led coalition to confront the two groups.

"We appeal to the president and the Saudi-led Arab coalition forces to quickly intervene to save Shabwa, after the terrorist Brotherhood handed over the three Baihan districts to the Iranian-backed Houthi militias," Colonel Al-Hathila said, in a video clip.

While the commander of the Sixth Battalion in the 19th Infantry Brigade and one of the officers involved in the liberation of the Bihan districts 2017, Lt. Col. Abdul Karim Al-Ayachi described the Brotherhood’s betrayal as a “treacherous stab.”

In a video recording, Lt. Col. Al-Ayachi demanded an end to the influence of the Brotherhood in Shabwa and those who hijack power, calling on the honorable officers of the military leaders and tribesmen to take an urgent position and mobilize to defend the province, expel the Brotherhood and restore the areas seized by the Houthi militias.

The military official warned against the Brotherhood's war of attrition against the Arab coalition, stressing the need to build a decisive position on the coalition forces, because the battle has become with the Houthis from the front and the Brotherhood from the back.
