Activists on social media circulated a video clip revealing a severe domestic gas crisis in the Bayhan district, west of Shabwa, as one of the repercussions of the fall of the district in the hands of the Houthi militia about three weeks ago.
The video clip, which was documented by a citizen from the roof of his house, shows a long queue of dozens of gas cylinders lined up along a street in the city of Beihan in front of a gas showroom.
The clip reflects the situation that the Bayhan districts are experiencing after they fell into the hands of the Houthi militia without a fight on the 21st of last September, following the withdrawal of the forces affiliated with the Brotherhood, led by the Special Forces led by the Brotherhood Brigadier / Abd Rabbo Lakab al-Sharif, to which he belongs and most of its elements.
The escape of the Brotherhood forces, led by the Special Forces, in front of the Houthi militia was a shocking scene, as it came about a month after a show of force carried out by these forces in late August, towards the invading Balhaf facility where the coalition forces and the Shabwani Elite Forces are present.
Where the special forces deployed in the vicinity of the facility and set up checkpoints and arrested a number of elite members, based on an official incitement by the Brotherhood’s governor, Muhammad bin Adyo, against the presence of the coalition forces and the elite and demanding their expulsion, within the context of the Brotherhood’s incitement campaign that has been going on for months against the presence of the Arab coalition forces in Belhaf and accusing it of obstructing the restart of the Yemeni gas export project from the facility.
The group took advantage of the crisis that the riyal suffers from in the liberated areas to pump the media into its campaign around Balhaf, and to talk about the riyal’s recovery being linked to the re-export of gas from Balhaf, despite information indicating that the cessation of its export is due to technical problems and legal disputes between the government and the French company Total that runs the project. .
The show of force by the Brotherhood forces around Balhaf, which blew up the scenes of their escape from the Houthi militia and the fall of the three Baihan districts without any resistance, while warnings have recently escalated of the recurrence of the scene and the fall of other districts and areas in Shabwa.
And last Thursday, local sources reported that military forces affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood withdrew suddenly from the "Khoura" area in the Markha al-Salfi district towards Ataq, the center of the governorate.
Simultaneously, the sources revealed that the Houthi militia has been mobilizing on the outskirts of the upper Markha district for days, with the aim of controlling the lower Markha district, which opens the way for it to reach Ataq, the capital of the governorate.
The scenes of the Brotherhood’s withdrawal from the Houthi militia coincide with its continuation of its hostility towards society and political forces in Shabwa, and its continuation of its policies of repression and arrests, the most recent of which was the arrest of the leader of the Southern Resistance, Hassan Al-Muti Al-Qumaishi, yesterday, Saturday, in the city of Habban.
While the head of the Transitional Council leadership in Shabwa, Ali Ahmed al-Jabwani, revealed the Shabwa Brotherhood’s rejection of an offer made by the Transitional leadership to unify efforts to liberate the province from the Houthi militia.
Al-Jabwani added, in a television interview, that the offer made by the STC leadership made all concessions for the battle against Al-Houthi and the preservation of Shabwa soil, despite the fact that the prisons of the Brotherhood's authority are full of soldiers from the Shabwani elite.
