Mocha, NewsYemen, private:

The director of the Mocha port, Abdul Malik Al-Sharabi, expected an increase in the volume of commercial activity in the port, less than two weeks after the return of the navigational activity to the oldest port in the Arabian Peninsula.

Al-Sharabi said, in an exclusive statement to NewsYemen, that the port is preparing for export operations as an administrative and technical experience, and that the evaluation operations for the ships that entered during the past few days were successful.

A navigational source had said earlier that many requests to enter the ships had arrived at the loading and unloading department, which reinforces expectations of an increase in the number of ships arriving at the port.

In addition, workers expressed their happiness to return to work after 6 years of closure caused by the Iranian arm war.

Abdel-Jalil Bakas said that some people believed that the arrival of two ships during the opening of the port was for media promotion, but the continued flow of commercial ships on a daily basis confirms the falsehood of that claim.

For his part, Mohammed Al-Mashreh said that the port's return to work was thanks to the efforts made by the leader of the National Resistance, Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh.

He added that without these efforts, nothing would have been achieved, considering that the return of work to the port is a great blessing for Mocha workers who were previously eager to reopen it.

He explained that about 1,000 workers benefited from unloading goods during the past days, and that this benefited their families.

The port of Mocha is one of the oldest ports on the Arabian Peninsula, and it gained international fame during the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries, while exporting coffee shipments to Europe and the world.
