Armed men assassinated, Thursday night, an academic at Sanaa University, in the center of the Yemeni capital, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, a few hours after he demanded the payment of salaries.

Local sources told NewsYemen that gunmen shot Dr. Muhammad Ali Naim, a professor of architecture at Sana'a University and director of the Engineering Consultancy Center, as he was leaving a friend's house on Tunis Street in central Sana'a.

They added that Dr. "Naim" was fatally shot, and died instantly.

The assassination of "Naim" came a few hours after he published a post on his account on "Facebook", in which he demanded the Houthi government in Sana'a and the legitimate government in Aden, to pay academics' salaries and give them bonuses.

And before that, a professor of architecture at Sana’a University, Muhammad Naim, wrote another post, in which he said: “They think we forgot (our salaries), not what we forgot,” and added: “Release the salaries,” referring to the Houthi militia.
