Masam: 1581 Houthi mines were removed within a week

The engineering teams of the Saudi project to clear mines in Yemen "Masam" have dismantled more than 1,500 mines and explosive devices, left by the Houthi militia, in the liberated areas in just one week.

On Sunday, the project operations room said that field engineering teams removed 1,581 Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance during the period from July 10 to 16, 2021.

It explained that the quantity removed by the teams varied between 7 anti-personnel mines, 1,013 anti-tank mines, 558 unexploded ammunition, and 3 explosive devices.

According to the statement, the total that Masam's teams removed from the beginning of July until the 16th of July amounted to 3,444 mines, unexploded ordnance and an explosive device.

With this outcome, the total that has been cleared of Houthi mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance since the beginning of the project until now has reached 263,428 mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance.
